This is a DTS 5.1 conversion created from a vinyl rip source utilizing the SPEC method (ArcTan mode) as found on www.surroundbyus.com. Only playable on home theater equipment and PC software capable of decoding a DTS signal. Otherwise, you will hear static. Notes and disclaimers: It is not recommended that you downmix these tracks to stereo, transcode them in any way, or make any changes other to them than how they are presented here. If you are not a fan of stereo-to-surround conversions, while I do recommend giving the SPEC mixes a chance, if it is not your intention to do so, please respect those who do get enjoyment out of these mixes and do not troll or flame on my, or anyone else's, posts. Re-listed from an earlier Demonoid upload. Very well received by others when I first put it out there, and still holds up very well. Enjoy. Rage Against The Machine XX (20th Anniversary Special Edition) [2-CD+DVD] [image=zvX3CG1fTQ] [image=hRFTslmYvI] [image=DSPkel5xBE] [image=n8PK4mkew5] Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release Rage Against the Machine - XX, commemorative 20th anniversary editions of the eponymous debut album by a great American rock band, on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Originally released in November 1992, Rage Against the Machine signaled the arrival of a revolutionary musical force, a band straddling the worlds of hip-hop and heavy metal with a scorching streetwise sound that rapped and rhymed hardcore across a musical backdrop as menacing and inspirational as graffiti. Rage Against the Machine entered the popular lexicon as more than just a revolutionary American rock band, the group's very name provided a rallying battle cry for the ongoing struggles for liberation--psychic and political--on planet earth. Formed in 1991, Rage Against the Machine opened the gates of a new boundary-obliterating rock-rap musical alliance with the band's literate and politically-charged debut album. Featuring band members Tim Commerford, Zack de la Rocha, Tom Morello and Brad Wilk, Rage Against the Machine became a critical and commercial success, selling millions of copies around the world while attaining legendary status among alt-rock fans. To this day the album, and the band, remain standard-bearers for uncompromising incendiary rock. Newly remastered for this anniversary release, Rage Against the Machine - XX will be available as a CD in three configurations: 1) 20th Anniversary Edition Deluxe Box Set housing two CDs, two DVDs, one 12" 180gm vinyl LP, one 40 page booklet and two-sided poster; 2) 20th Anniversary Special Edition featuring two CDs and a bonus DVD featuring six tracks in an oversized softpack and 3) 20th Anniversary Edition single compact disc (with three bonus tracks). 12" 180gm vinyl editions--a picture disc and a facsimile reproduction--of the original LP, remastered (no bonus tracks) will also be available. Compact Disc One of the newly remastered Rage Against the Machine - XX will include the original album, in its entirety, as well as three collectible b-sides from era. Compact Disc Two presents the original Rage Against the Machine demo tape. Recorded in 1991 and sold for $5 at the merch table at early Rage shows, the tape achieved mythical word-of-mouth status amongst music fans while helping to seal the band's deal with Epic Records. The 20th anniversary releases of Rage Against the Machine - XX marks the first time the entire RATM demo tapes have seen a full official release. DVD #1 included in the Deluxe Box Set features Rage Against the Machine's historic free concert in Finsbury Park on June 2010, performed as a thank-you to UK fans for making "Killing in the Name" the UK's Number One Single during Christmas week 2009. Also included is the band's groundbreaking music videos plus live concert performance clips. DVD#2 takes you back to the release of Rage's debut album focusing on live performance from 1991-1994 which features the full set of RATM's first public performance as well as various live, rare clips. Rage Against the Machine - XX will include new liner notes, penned especially for the band's 20th anniversary by longtime fan and hip-hop pioneer Chuck D. Evil Empire - Rage Against the Machine (1996)

As the vitriol spewed from Evil Empire, Rage Against the Machine's long-awaited follow up to their 1993 debut owes much to Chuck D.'s polemic fury and rapid-fire urgency--though as always the band rages without hip-hop machinery in favor of the heavy-duty power tools of rock. But no matter if Rage against the Machine amounts to revolutionary rap, protest metal, or a combination of the two, the band's command of sonic rage makes Evil Empire a powerful assault in any musical language. But wait, there's more to the name. Raging against the machine, like yelling at the TV, is woefully misdirected. Lyricist Zack de la Rocha is clearly someone with strong political views--particularly when it comes to the plight of fellow Mexicans on both sides of the border. He vents his indignation sharply at times ("Vietnow,""Without a Face"), rather clumsily and artlessly most others. Music this angry should be aimed at something more specific than an entire race or nation or government, or else it risks sounding like the empty rants of confused postpubescent rebellion. If only Rage against the Machine's raw musical muscles were grinding over a focused message, lord knows how potent they could be. --Roni Sarig Format: MP3 VBR Release: April 16, 1996 Tracks: 01 - People of the Sun 02 - Bulls on Parade 03 - Vietnow 04 - Revolver 05 - Snakecharmer 06 - Tire Me 07 - Down Rodeo 08 - Without a Face 09 - Wind Below 10 - Roll Right 11- Year of the Boomerang

Not since the days of the Clash and the MC5 has rock seen such political force as in the uncompromising debut from this L.A. quartet. Expanding the hip-hop/metal style of bands such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage tap the spirits of vintage Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, coupled with hardcore punk intensity and Public Enemy-style grooves. "Bombtrack" opens the LP with a shot of adrenaline and singer Zack de la Rocha's infuriated chorus of "Burn, burn, yes, you're gonna burn!" The intensity doesn't let up an inch on the militant "Killing in the Name" (with the inspiring chant, "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!"), the ultrafunky "Bullet in the Head," and the engrossing "Fistful of Steel." Tom Morello combines time-honored metal guitar riffs with sounds that suggest a hip-hop scratcher over a rhythm section that simply takes no prisoners. Intelligent and aggressive, this is unimpeachably one of the best hard-rock records ever made. --James Rotondi

Rage Against the Machine - Renegades [MP3] [2000]

If Renegades proves to be the last Rage Against the Machine album to feature singer Zack de la Rocha, who quit the band after nine years, it's a cool way to go out. Produced by Rick Rubin, Renegades is a salute to the artists who made Rage what they are--or were. While it's easy to hear Rage's rap roots in songs from Afrika Bambaataa, EPMD, and Volume 10, it's more interesting to see their take on rock in its classic and punk forms. Rage capture the raw spirit, if not the quite the intensity, inherent in the MC5 classic "Kick Out the Jams." A superior second live take appears at the CD's end, followed by a concert version of Cypress Hill's "How I Could Just Kill a Man," with help from B-Real and Sen Dog. Devo's "Beautiful World" is rendered quietly unrecognizable, while Minor Threat's "In My Eyes" is given a wonderfully melodic, ultra-aggro treatment. The Rolling Stones'"Street Fighting Man" takes on a techno vibe that's unsettling and Bob Dylan's "Maggie's Farm" is also effectively modernized. Ultimately, Renegades is a must-have for its song selection, musical execution, and the unhappy fact that it's likely the ultimate offering from one of rock's most musically and politically relevant lineups. --Katherine Turman

Rage Against the Machine - The Battle of Los Angeles (1999)

Having successfully fused music and politics from their start, inspiring both moshing and young minds in the process, Rage Against the Machine emerges in peak form with merely their third album in seven years. Guitarist Tom Morello is one of the most distinctive and innovative players of his era, and his foil, vocalist/lyricist Zack De La Rocha, is as unrelenting and inspiring as ever on The Battle of Los Angeles. Rage, whose past antics include performing naked with duct tape over their mouths to protest censorship, released Battle on Election Day, but the politics of the group can be separated from the sounds. Indeed, the 45 minutes of mayhem heard here can be enjoyed solely as rousing aggro hip-hop rock. There's more variety found on Battle than on its predecessors, however. "Sleep Now in the Fire" is one of their most straight-ahead rock tunes. The trippy guitar on "Calm Like a Bomb" is out there even for the adventurous Morello. And "Born a Broken Man" serves up lovely musical interludes. Overall, the more finely honed Rage heard on Battle may not inspire a generation of young revolutionaries, but they still stir up more mutinous spirit than the rest of the current rock pack. --Katherine Turman 01 - Rage Against The Machine - Testify - The Battle Of Los Angeles 02 - Rage Against The Machine - Guerrilla Radio - The Battle Of Los Angeles 03 - Rage Against The Machine - Calm Like A Bomb - The Battle Of Los Angeles 04 - Rage Against The Machine - Mic Check - The Battle Of Los Angeles 05 - Rage Against The Machine - Sleep Now In The Fire - The Battle Of Los Angeles 06 - Rage Against The Machine - Born Of A Broken Man - The Battle Of Los Angeles 07 - Rage Against The Machine - Born As Ghosts - The Battle Of Los Angeles 08 - Rage Against The Machine - Maria - The Battle Of Los Angeles 09 - Rage Against The Machine - Voice Of The Voiceless - The Battle Of Los Angeles 10 - Rage Against The Machine - New Millennium Homes - The Battle Of Los Angeles 11 - Rage Against The Machine - Ashes In The Fall - The Battle Of Los Angeles

[img]http://leetleech.org/images/62306848489190489667.jpg[/img] Originally released in November 1992, Rage Against the Machine’s debut LP is one of the definitive rock albums of the 90s, and one of the most influential of all time. Available in three different versions, this 20th anniversary set pairs the remastered album with a range of interesting, though ultimately inessential, video clips. Also included is concert footage and rare bonus tracks, including the band’s original 12-song demo. Fusing metal’s volume and sheer aggression with the streetwise style of Public Enemy and Beastie Boys, RATM married metal and hip hop to incredible effect. No one since – certainly not the likes of Kid Rock or Limp Bizkit – has come close. An explosive cocktail of savage sonic beatdowns, caustic political invective and razor-sharp social commentary, it’s the sound of righteous anger vented with total conviction. Although now perhaps better known in the UK as the song that, thanks to a popular grassroots campaign, bagged the 2009 Christmas number one slot, Killing in the Name is the track that broke the band. The first of four singles from the album, it enjoyed heavy radio airplay and became an instant club hit. With its pummelling riffs and notorious “F*** you, I won’t do what you tell me” refrain, it’s the band’s signature track and the soundtrack for The Terminator generation. None of the other singles lifted from this album – Bullet in the Head, Bombtrack and Freedom – is so arresting or immediate. In their own right, however, they’re great songs, and the remainder – particularly Take the Power Back, Know Your Enemy and Wake Up (featured prominently in the zeitgeist-changing movie The Matrix) – are never less than incendiary. Overall, Rage Against the Machine has aged extremely well. Tom Morello’s inventive guitar work, Zack de la Rocha’s impassioned vocals, and the fierce rhythms laid down by bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk sound as urgent and unique as ever.
